63. The cross is the seal of Divine approbation. The work undertaken for God must be purified
by suffering.
64. You have only two things to do when you suffer; keep quiet and pray.
65. If the grain of wheat does not fall into the ground and die, it remains alone. We
can do good only if we die to ourselves by self-forgetfulness, so that we can produce eternal fruit which will be pleasing
to God.
66. Accept all that happens to us and around us as coming from the hand of God, without analyzing
what it is, or from whence it comes. God is still a father when He purifies us. We must remain calm during the hardest trials
because they have their source in love.
67. We must learn to live them in union with Christ... And in order to encourage us, He will
say earnestly : I want you to do this, and suffer that ... for love!
