68. A religious does not enjoy a tranquil conscience and peace of soul unless he strives to live integrally the spirit of the founder.

69. Those who are animated by a truly religious spirit love prayer; solitude to look for God; silence and perfect obedience. They fly from injuring poverty and damaging purity. Forgetful of self they will mortify their bodies by work. Humble and charitable, they will be at the service of their brothers. They will accept confidently the advice and reprimands of their superiors, seeing in these God's guiding Hand; as for themselves, they will treat themselves with scorn and fear. Briefly, they will bow to all the exigencies of the Rule and utilize all means offered by the constitutions and the superiors to arrive at a greater perfection.
